St. Patrick's Day

Last week, my friend Leslie posted a picture of her precious Henry all decked out for St. Patty's Day. She thought his outfit might have been a bit over-the-top because it was covered with shamrocks. Obviously she had not seen this picture of Aubrey Claire! Please note that I was not responsible for this - it was all my dad's idea!!! When I dropped Aubrey Claire off with my parents, she was wearing an adorable dress with leggings...when I arrived to pick her up, this is what I found...

Say Cheese!

One of Aubrey Claire's teachers, Ms. Linda, took this precious picture of her playing in the exersaucer at school. She has such a good time with Ms. Linda and Ms. Christy!!

Snow Day

Ok - let me start this post by saying I'm so jealous of all of my friends that got these fabulous pictures of their children experiencing snow for the first time. Corey wasn't super-excited about our little photo shoot and by the look on her face, neither was Aubrey Claire! But we got our picture. (One of these days I'm going to hand the camera over and get a pic of mommy and Aubrey Claire!)

Eating Solid Foods, Round 2

At her 6-month well baby check up, Dr. McCown recommended that we start introducing solids to Aubrey Claire's diet. He suggested that we start with applesauce and alternate adding a new fruit/vegetable every 4 or 5 days. So we bought a couple of containers of the Stage 1 Applesauce thinking she'd love it! I like applesauce...Corey likes applesauce...why wouldn't Aubrey Claire like applesauce?!? Its much tastier than that cardboard-like rice cereal I tried to feed her earlier, right?! WRONG. She doesn't like it... The first few bites went "overboard". She took the spoonful of applesauce, turned and spit it out...all down the side of her little Bumbo seat. Nice. Then Corey decided to try the ole "bait and switch" trick. He let her have her paci for a minute or two, pulled it out, snuck in a spoonful of applesauce. That didn't work either - this time she didn't bother to lean over and spit it out. She just let it run down her face. Needless to say, it was time for a bath!!!

And now, the search is on for a veggie that she'll take to better than she did the applesauce!

6 months old ALREADY!

I can't even believe that my precious little pumpkin is 6 months old already! It seems like yesterday I was being wheeled down the hospital hallway for a c-section! So much has changed in these 6 short months - our lives are totally different and I wouldn't give back one second of it for anything! Aubrey Claire went to the doctor on her 6-month birthday and let's just say, Dr. McCown was quite impressed! She weighs 17lb 13.5oz and is 26 3/4 inches tall. She can sit up on her own. She can roll from back to front and front to back. She can "stand up" and hold her own weight (with assistance of course). She's not crawling yet, but I have a feeling she'll be scooting along before we know it. She has one little tooth thats coming in and another thats about to break through. And until Dr. McCown attempted to remove a little wax from her ear (and ended up discovering an ear infection) she was happy as can be! But once he stuck that instrument into her ear, it was all over. She SCREAMED bloody murder. We had no idea she had an ear infection - she was happy, smiling, no fever, nothing to indicate anything wrong. Just when we calmed her down, it was time for the shots. Poor thing. After a long nap, lots of Motrin, and a dose of bubble-gum antibiotics, she was back to her precious little smiling-self!
