Happy Birthday Aubrey Claire - Part 1

Hi Friends and Family! Its been quite a long time since the last post, so let me fill you in on our latest news. We are expecting Baby Kennedy #2 this winter! After our most recent appointment, we found out that its a girl!! Little Maggie Mae will be here in late January and we are so excited! On September 4th, Aubrey Claire turned TWO! I can't even believe it...my sweet little baby is looking less and less like a baby every day. But that's what happens I guess, so I cherish every single second. She still loves to have Mommy rock her before bedtime, so some nights we "rock mo mo time" (rock one more time). She likes to watch TV in Mommy's bed, so some mornings we stay in our pajamas, cuddle with pillows and blankets, and watch her favorite TV show in Mommy's bed. Its OK to bend the rules every now and again - after all, its only going to be the two of us girls for a little while longer!

For her birthday, Corey and I took Aubrey Claire to the park. It was an absolutely gorgeous day - perfect weather for playing on the playground and checking out the ducks. After the park, we took Aubrey Claire to Chick-Fil-A (her favorite). What better way to top off the day? An ice cream cone, of course!! Every day that we can do something fun as a family, just the 3 of us, is a great day for me. All too often, we get caught up in chores and errands and running around town...but to take time to just hang out and enjoy each other's company is just awesome.

Chillin' at the Pool

Its been a while, I know...but its summertime and we've been incredibly busy doing not much of anything! Crazy how that happens, right? We have been spending some time at the pool. That plus a long weekend in Myrtle Beach for a wedding and Aubrey Claire has a better tan than I do! Which, honestly, itsn't all that hard. Thank goodness she didn't inherit my fair {Casper-the-Ghost} complexion! That's about it for now! I'll try to do better about taking (and posting) pics of our Summer adventures!

Mother's Day 2010

Mother's Day Weekend

On Saturday, Corey, Aubrey Claire, and I spent some quality family time at the Buck Creek Festival in Helena. With Sunday jam-packed with Mother's Day lunches and dinners, Saturday was a great time to hang out...just the three of us. Aubrey Claire had a great time on the swing set, bounced in the blow-up bouncee things, and played in the creek. It was the perfect way to kick off a great Mother's Day Weekend!

Cuck-cucks

Aubrey Claire loves her some cupcakes (cuck-cucks). She enjoys baking them, but she really enjoys eating them. Especially when there's a lot of icing and sprinkles!!! ONE DAY LAST WEEK

Mommy: "Aubrey Claire, what would you like to eat for breakfast?"

AC: "Cuck-cuck"

Mommy: "No pumpkin, you can't have cupcakes for breakfast. What else do you want?"

AC: "Toasssss"

Mommy: "Toast? OK, what would you like with your toast?"

AC: "Cuck-cuck"

LATER THAT DAY...

Mommy: "Aubrey Claire, its time for lunch! What would you like to eat?"

AC: "Hama"

Mommy: "Ham? What else?"

AC: "Cheeeee"

Mommy: "Cheese? OK, anything else? What about pretzels or some apples?"

AC: "Cuck-cuck"

How can you say no to a smile like that?? :) Atleast they were strawberry cupcakes! That counts as a fruit, right?

A little of this...a little of that...

Aubrey Claire has grown up so much in the last few months - she's really starting to become her own little person. As she grows and develops her own personality, its fun to see which traits she picks up from me and which ones she gets from Corey.

1. First off, the obvious...Aubrey Claire looks just like Corey. Blue eyes...blonde hair...facial expressions...all Daddy.
2. Her love of shoes, hair bows, and accessories in general - this one is definitely me!
3. Aubrey Claire loves to be outside, loves to play with her "mow-mow" (lawn mower) and help Daddy with the yard work - that's Corey. He enjoys working outside, taking care of our yard, and working in the garden. I like to be outside, but I'd prefer to be sitting poolside rather than out doing chores!
4. She loves books. She loves for you to read to her and she loves to "read" to you - that one is all me! When I was little and earned a special treat from the store, I would always pick out a book. I enjoyed reading when I was growing up and I still enjoy reading now.
5. Aubrey Claire likes to organize things. Certain things have a specific place and she likes to make sure everything is where it needs to be - this is definitely Corey. I'm more of the organized chaos type, but Corey likes for everything to be put up in its proper place.
6. She loves arts & crafts, especially "dot-dots" - umm...yeah, thats me!
7. Aubrey Claire can be pretty stubborn - I'd say we're both equally responsible for this one! :)

While its sad to realize just how fast time passes and how quickly she is growing up, it is fun to watch her grow and develop into such as sweet, loving little girl. I love me some Aubrey Claire!!

Rick & Bubba - Rick & Bubba

For my brother's birthday, Paige got tickets for them (and my parents) to go sit in on the Rick & Bubba Show. They were able to sit and watch the whole show live! Aubrey Claire and I showed up outside the studio with a sign that said "My Uncle JH, Aunt Paige, Nana, and Pooba are in the Golden Ticket Seats". I was just hoping for a wave, but instead they invited us in to watch/listen to the end of the show. Then they posed for pics!! How awesome is that?!?

Miss March Madness

Someone is ready for some b-ball! After a day with Nana and Pooba, Aubrey Claire was all decked out in her blue & gold ready to cheer on the Mountaineers! Her "Miss March Madness" outfit was complete with sweat bands, UnderArmor, tube socks, and Converse! You've gotta love the pig-tails!!! :)

Just like Momma...

If you know me, you know that I love me some shoes. I love heels, flats, wedges, sandals, dressy shoes and casual shoes. Lately, my shoe choices have become somewhat more practical (lets face it - you can't really chase after a 18mnth old in 4 1/2" pink crocodile pumps). But it seems like I have passed along my affinity for shoes to someone in particular...and she seems to prefer my shoes to her own!

Happy Valentine's Day

Aubrey Claire helped me bake and decorate the Valentine's Day cupcakes for her class. She has so much fun helping me in the kitchen. She's really gotten better at doing small tasks - she can stir and mix, if you help her a bit - she likes doing the icing and sprinkles - she takes things to the garbage - and she likes to wipe off the table when we're done. It really is a lot of fun having her help me...even if it does make a bigger mess sometimes. You do have to watch her around the finish product, though!!

Snow Day

As soon as it started snowing on Friday, Aubrey Claire wanted to go outside and check things out. She wanted to go out so bad that she even let me put on her gloves (and she hates wearing her gloves!!). Eventhough I had her bundled up like Randy from The Christmas Story ("I can't put my arms down"), she was able to go outside and roll around a bit. Corey even slipped away from work a little early - shhh, don't tell - and make it home in time to play with us!!
